Conjoined Twins from Tigray/Ethiopia

They are named as Hiyab and Whubto, which literally mean gift. So both have two different words that describe their onness.

They celebrated their first birthday (officially 1 years old) in the month of March and they are are doing well!

I’m very grateful that I was able to be part of their first year birthday celebration and couple of visits!

In my visit in July, Hiyab and Whubto completed their third surgery successfully. They are being cared by very wonderful clinicians, social workers and their amazing and selfless guardian Abe!

We are very grateful for Cardinal Glenn Children’s Hospital with Dr. Andy White and his staff.

We are also grateful to World Pediatrics and Kate in particular.

We appreciate the entire friends of Tigray who are making sure that these girls get the best treatment and stay in the US. From the reports I am getting regularly from Abe, both have gained weight and doing well. To see them celebrating their birthday was an icing on the cake!

Please continue to make sure they receive the best of both clinical care and social exposure.

Thank you and God bless you all!
